Meet MK

Hi, I’m Mel Kelly, Founder & Company Director of MK Talent Advisory Ltd.

What inspired me to start MK Talent Advisory?

With over 15 years of experience within in-house Talent Acquisition, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of companies and clients and my journey has taken me through various sectors; Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Professional Services, FMCG and Pharmaceutical, each with it’s own unique recruitment challenges, goals, time-frames, team dynamics and a fair share of red-tape. From this, I have become very creative in finding solutions and I have tried and tested what works and what doesn’t, in a variety of scenarios. Each stage of the recruitment life-cycle provides enormous opportunity to add-value and I want to use my deep recruitment expertise and broad industry experience to help others realise this value through objective advice and implementation of talent strategies.

A bit about my journey:

My most recent experience was at PwC where I spent 6.5 years. Starting my journey there as a Manager, I progressed to Senior Manager where I led a large scale experienced-hire recruitment team for the Business Solutions line of service across the UK. I also spent two years within the PwC Deal Consulting team where I advised global FTSE 100 clients undergoing high profile Mergers & Acquisitions predominantly focusing on recruitment readiness activities, such as; hiring strategy & execution, risks identification & mitigation, training & upskilling, EVP (employee value proposition) & employer branding.

At the beginning of my career I started on the ground, deep within operational recruitment delivery, so I have seen and experienced recruitment at all levels as I have risen through the ranks, which has helped me grow and really understand the ins and outs of recruitment. At TUI Group I worked for several of it’s travel companies, driving recruitment fulfilment, setting strategies, running assessments and leading teams. At the Royal Automobile Club I designed and operationalised their first recruitment function which saved them a high amount of recruitment related costs by bringing all their recruitment in-house.
